Situational Awareness
Stills from Situational Awareness, a stop-motion animated short film collaboration with the ant population at Lost Coast Culture Machine.
I painted a predator drone in corn syrup pigmented with natural food coloring. Over the course of one evening, the ants removed the corn syrup causing the drone to disappear. Images were taken every ten seconds. The film plays in reverse.
