Learning to Live without Refrigeration

A perk of living on the Mendocino Coast is living in places with either no refrigerator or with one outside, say in a woodshed. The reason being is that refrigerators are loud and exacerbate the nervous system especially during sleep. Living without one for two years taught me that vegetables keep much better in a bowl of water. And I couldn’t sleep for quite a while when I returned to living in proximity to refrigeration.
