Fort Bragg Walk : A Third Space
As part of Give & Take, a collaboration with Belfast, Northern Ireland - based artists, I was tasked with instructions to create an interactive walk through Fort Bragg.
These are images of my research into the history and present land-use in Fort Bragg, primarily of what is known as the mill-site - the former Georgia-Pacific lumber mill which spans the entirety of Fort Bragg’s coastline.
Since 2011, the city of Fort Bragg has purchased the land immediately adjacent to the coast and opened the coastal trail to the public, the remainder of the mill-site remains in highly contested limbo. All of this land is unceded Pomo land.
This research is presently informing work on Redwood Time, a collaboration with the Larry Spring Museum.
